Dhampir

By Robyn Swaim

DhampirVery rarely do I set a book aside with the intent to never pick it up again. This one is one of those rare books. Aside from being badly proofread, the writing style is juvenile. I'm not sure what this book is supposed to be, but it reads like a bodice ripper without benefit of any bodices being ripped. I'm not generally big on vampire novels - I think The Vampire LeStat by Anne Rice may have been the last one I read - and this book does nothing to make me a fan.

I give it two thumbs down.

The book above is the one I read - I didn't think it was legal for two books to have the same title. This one is about a half-Vampire Slayer and her Elf sidekick. They even wrote a sequel.

HMMMM

That one sounds even worse than this one.

And why would it be illegal for multiple books to have the same title? That would be like saying there could only be one person named Jane in the whole wide world.

I thought it would be a copyright issue - especially on a word like "Dhampir".

The book is described as a cross between "Buffy" and "LOR".

I enjoyed them - light reading.

You're thinking trademark which if completely different from copyright.

seitherin is correct re: multiple books with same/similar titles. Titles cannot be copyrighted - only the actual material can be. I'm sorry you did not enjoy my novel, but oh well, no one is perfect right? I wish I had the money to afford lots of staff to help me - unfortunately, I'm just a poor struggling slob like most of us. However, since you like to proofread, perhaps you can offer me your services for my second book? Thanks for the promotional material! Robyn (yes, THAT Robyn)
