Everyone seems to be jumping on the blog bandwagon so I thought I'd give it a go as well. Haven't really got a clue what I'm going to talk about, but that's never really stopped me from saying something, so . . .

We had rain again
Last Thursday. Not a two day torrent, but a simple one day deluge. I was going to post the pictures when I got home Thursday night, but my cell phone never sent the silly pictures until today so today is when I post.

Izzy
It looks like she's been having disagreements with one of the other cats again. You can just see a small wound by her ear.
From friends at work
They surprised me for my birthday today since I won't be in the office for it next week - I always take my birthday off. There was also cake in the morning and the ladies took me out to lunch at Applebee's. I was very surprised. I really enjoyed today.

What a difference a day makes
Record high temperature and humidity today (and very likely tomorrow as well) followed by seasonal temperatures and more rain on Thursday. Honestly, I think we've had enough rain for a while.

We needed an ark today
We had six inches of rain yesterday plus I don't know how many more today. I couldn't leave work until about 6 p.m. which is when the rain eased up enough I could actually make it to my car without drowning in the parking lot. I went through some really high water that was running across the road. Fortunately, one of my co-workers was headed in the same direction as I was and she had a pickup truck so I was able to follow along in her wake. I made it through all the high water without any problem. I wish I could have taken pictures of the stuff I actually had to drive through, but I was on the phone with her trying to coordinate when to go where to go so that I didn't get stuck. But I did take some other pictures while on the way home. Enjoy!

BBC News | Health | Early Alzheimer's signs detected
A new computer-aided analysis may help detect the earliest signs of cell damage caused by Alzheimer's disease.
The system is able to analyse the extent of damage in areas of grey matter, where brain cells are tightly packed together.
The researchers say it could lead to earlier diagnosis of a disease that can be treated most effectively in its initial stages.
