Animal welfare groups discouraged people from taking up Tollner's call to arms, saying freezing the animals to death was more humane.
Freezing the toads may be more humane, but most people just don't have a canister of liquid nitrogen sitting around the garage.
I wonder if the folks down under have learned not to introduce non-native fauna without making sure there is a native predator to keep the other in check.
